Steering Gear Control - Manual Steering System

Kobelt Manufacturing makes steering cylinders from 1.5” I.D. to 10” I.D. The smaller models, up to 3” I.D., are made in bronze and stainless steel. Our models 7040, 7050, 7065, 7080 and 7093 are available in both balanced and unbalanced versions. The larger cylinders models 7094, 7096, 7098 and 7100 are not available in a balanced version. When using unbalanced cylinders, two or more must be used in a steering system.

Kobelt Manufacturing produces different sizes of Helm Pumps. All of our Helm Pumps are made from bronze and stainless steel, with the exception of the thrust and roller bearings, and of course, hardened and ground pistons. These Help Pumps can be installed in any location on the vessel because of their materials and watertight construction.

The Helm Pumps incorporate lock valves, filler plugs and interconnecting plugs for multi-station applications. A front mounting plate is available for all pumps (optional) where the pump is mounted behind the console face. All the Kobelt Hydraulic Pumps are based on the same design and are all of the variable delivery type. An external adjusting screw, facing the operator, can be turned with a screwdriver to increase or decrease the delivery of out Helm Pumps.
